Recent Construction Activities

Works in Central District are undertaken by two contracts: a) Central Interchange Contract (Contract No: HY/2009/18) and b) Tunnel Buildings, Systems and Fittings, and Works Associated with Tunnel Commissioning Contract (Contract No: HY/2011/08)

A section of the tunnel structure in Central District is constructed under Central Reclamation Phase III (CRIII)

a) Central Interchange (Contract No: HY/2009/18) 
This contract is for the construction of a 220-metre-long tunnel section, together with its approach road and at-grade slip road. Rumsey Street Flyover will be widened and modified. (More information…) 

b) Tunnel Buildings, Systems and Fittings, and Works Associated with Tunnel Commissioning (Contract No: HY/2011/08) 
This contract is for the construction of the Tunnel Building in Central District, i.e. West Ventilation Building (WVB), and tunnel cladding works, installation of route-wide tunnel electrical and mechanical works as well as the traffic control and surveillance system. The contract scope also includes testing and commissioning works. (More information…) 

Main Temporary Traffic Arrangements

To facilitate the construction works in Central, Temporary Traffic Arrangements will be/have been implemented as follows:

 

a) Junction improvement works will be carried out in Central during late July 2018 to January 2019. Relevant temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide both pedestrians and motorists. For more details, please refer to Leaflet A.
